Wild Hair and Hiking/Beach Extravaganza

Every day Gaby and I find more and
more ways of how similar we are.
"If we were one person, we'd be the perfect woman."
We decided to get wild and give each other
crazy hair dos.
We went crazy with the Lychee. It was SO delicious!
Our neighbor was giving it away and
Gaby and I happily brought it to the beach
with us.

ALOHA!
It only took us 4 tries before we finally got it.

We stopped to admire the bushel of cows
before our brisk hike.
At the top of Fagan's Cross. We could see all of Hana.

Found a tree with the perfect nook in it.

Not only do we play a lot, but we do actually
work. This is an African Tulip Tree that
I pulled up. They're an invasive species and
are an extreme pain!!

I'm also in charge of cleaning
the Bamboo Cottage. It's a cute little
place for people to stay when they
come visit Hana.

It makes me so happy to clean!
The beautiful lanai of the Bamboo
Cottage.
On our walk back from the beach we collected
a bunch of coconuts from the side of the road.
It's so much fun to scavenge for food where ever I go.

My new wwoofing family!!! So much has changed
and I'm loving it!

Mother's Day Madness and More

Andrew cuddling with Tula.

Making nachos for Cinco de Mayo.

Washing flowers for Mother's Day. We sent out around 100 boxes over 4 days.

Eric was so excited to be packing the last box for
Mother's  Day.

One of the many beautiful harvest.

It rained non-stop after Mother's Day so we
ended up cleaning the warehouse. I was in charge
of organizing.

And I loved it!

I've started cooking a lot. Making pizza from scratch
has become one of my specialties. Now I'm on to bread.

I sent a box to Issie and Idris to congratulate them on graduating
from nursing school. It was packed full of flowers
and aloha.

After receiving my paints, we all went wild. It first started on canvas and then we
made our way to each other's faces! It was a lovely rainy day activity.
Heather and I spent a day in Paia on the other side of Maui. We went to the beach
and then shopped around and explored for several hours. These cool masks are from
Tahiti that are hand carved. They were all over the store and I went nuts
putting them on.
Heather and I in the back of a truck riding around Paia.
Doing arts and crafts one afternoon. Chelsea
was about to make earrings.

At the beach playing with rocks.
"Getting stoned at Red Sands."

The Past 2 Weeks in Pictures

Our little booth at Taro Fest! I spent all of
Friday creating 2 signs and painting aprons.
Lava Moon w/ Aloha Bluegrass Band.
Getting the truck ready for Taro Fest.
Traditional Hula dancing at Taro Fest.

The oldest church on Maui.
On the backside of Maui.
Still on the backside... Just a little ways down the road.

Atop Mt. Haleakala at the Lavender Farm.
Andrew and Nick nestled amongst the lavender.
Statue in the gardens.
Beautiful Banyan tree in Lahaina. (It's all
one tree!!!)
Cozy in the back and enjoying
a 4 hour drive.

Hula on the beach with the sunset.

Just another house on the walk to the beach.
My bedroom......
....in the back of a school bus!
Sharing my room with the geckos....

.....and the cockroaches. YUCK!
The Diggs. (Our kitchen and 2 other bedrooms.)

Our cozy kitchen.

The lovely pantry where the cats like to
hang out and eat our bread.
In the process of cleaning. Basically what the
Diggs looked like before and after I cleaned
for 5 hours straight. Such satisfaction.
All the storage bins. 3 of them are filled
with old clothes and it's like going to
the thrift shop :)

The washtubs that we wash all the flowers in.

The peaceful orchid nursery.
The wonderful veggie garden where I could
spend all my time.

The hang out spot where we spend most of our evenings.

Just another morning at Hana Tropicals.
